Pregnancy and family update

Just so you know I've done like 5 posts before this one.  Check em out!

I'm about 11 weeks along now.  I feel like I'm already showing like I did at 15 weeks last time.  That was my awkward in between stage.  I'm still pretty sick, but not as bad as those first couple weeks.  I throw up everyday and at one point thought this pregnancy I felt better than last, but now I think I might be a little sicker this time around.  Oh well, it's still not that bad.  I have a few friends that are REALLY sick the WHOLE pregnancy so I really have nothing to complain about.  I'm thinking by 15 weeks I should be feeling great.

We had an ultra sound a few weeks ago and all looked great.  We'll have another one in about a week!  Boston has been sick all week with tonsilitis and Bronchitis so it's been a tough week for us, but in some ways I was glad to have an excuse to stay in and watch baby einstein when needed.  I wasn't feeling so hot either.  I bought an ADORABLE dress for my birthday that I can't wait to wear throughout my pregnancy.  It's a long maxi dress and I'm afraid I will want to wear it every single day while pregnant!  Maybe I'll be a dress girl for the first time in my life.

I'm doing so so great in the anxiety department.  I feel wonderful.  I am sort of noticing a pattern of ebbs and flows every 2 weeks.  I seem to have 2 weeks of mild night time anxiety and 2 weeks of feeling perfectly normal.  I'm not sure if it'll continue that way, but I can totally deal it.  It's not bad at night and It doesn't prevent me from sleeping.  I just have to tell myself that any irrational thoughts or fears I may have at night are nothing, and have no validity.   Then I feel great again in the morning.  The last 2 weeks I've had no anxiety so that's been lovely.

With Dane's new job we are in bed by 10 every night (sometimes earlier) so that might be helping with late night anxiety.  I also have become a daily coke drinker (for nausea) but I switched to caffeine free and diet.  I'm trying to get back to no sugar, but it's been a slow transition.

I still think chicken and tomatoes are disgusting and I hate the smell of most everything.  Although Boston got out of the bath the other day and I sat him on my lap smelling him for like a half hour.  He was the best smelling thing in the whole house.

Dane is liking his new job so far and we are so grateful to A. have an income and B. get back on a good budget (We got off track at the end of Grad school as we didn't have enough money to pay our bills). His commute to work is 5 minutes, so that makes Dane one happy boy.
Dane has his own office and is pretty excited about that.  I'm gonna send him to work with a picture of Boston and him and a HOTT picture of me, probably circa 5 years ago.  :)

And the biggest news in our lives right now?  I've been making lunch, breakfast and dinner for the fam. every night for one week straight!!!!! This is unheard of in the Yancey home, but since Dane started work I've been getting up with him, making him breakfast and then making him lunch (cause he gets to come home) and dinner on the table by 6!  It is so much easier to do this now that Dane has a consistent schedule and I think Dane's really loving it.

My sister Lisa was my inspiration for this, cause she ALWAYS cooks every meal for her Hubs and he's always eating really healthy and they're saving money.  His coworkers are jealous and that's my goal.  Make Dane's coworkers jealous. :)

Life is good.

Snow day

He could barely walk in the snow, it was so deep

haha!  Poor kid, he's like the kid from a Christmas story (is that the right movie?)  It was so cold out so we had him in a footie sleeper, snow overalls, a long john onsie and two coats! His arms were stiff.

Love his raccoon hat

Daddy and Boss

After just a few minutes of playing in the snow, Boss decided he much preferred to watch Daddy snow plow.

Look at that little sneetch on the beach body. :)

Walking with Momma, who was also quite layered up.

our beautiful backyard.
We had a great few snow days together.  Dane was off of work and school for a month so we got to spend lots of family time together.  We enjoyed being snowed in for a couple days.  This was Boston's first snow that he's ever played in and he was only a semi-fan.  He was fascinated but decided he was done after trying to walk on his own and face planting a couple times.

Growing up Yancey

Dane and I talk all the time about how we're probably gonna raise a bunch of little weirdos...happy weirdos, but weirdos nonetheless.  I don't think I mind too much though.  Dane and I are both goofy, nerdy, weirdos but we can play "normal" in public, so hopefully our kids learn that skill too...then we'll all be fine.  :)

So here are some things that you may or may not know about us Yanceys.

1.  We have dance parties a few times a week...usually impromptu....usually (as in 99.9% of the time) started by me.  This stems from my childhood.  I can't remember an age I didn't have dance parties with my friends.

2.  We eat a lot of chicken and rice...to Dane's dismay.

3.  We are loud.  Lots of laughing, singing (often Opera style) and weird noise making.  The noise making stems from Dane's childhood...he was called, "stupid noise boy".

4.  We're big on nicknames in this household.  In fact it's rare that you hear any of our actual names used on a daily basis (although I did whip out Boston's FULL name today, when he was doing something naughty..that was a first!)  Our nicknames make no sense.  Here is a small list so you get a feel.

Jill- Tiny,  Momma, Maximinimus, Shug, Jilleth, Jillapagous, Jillonius, Jillton Freewater and the list could go on

Dane- Tiny (I'm aware it doesn't fit whatsoever, but most of my nicknames for Dane are just regurgitated from what Dane calls me) Daners, Danerboo, Love, Darling, Dada, and the list goes on.  I believe some people in his family suggested Danus, but for some reason that one hasn't stuck.  haha!

Boston- Boss, Bostybear, Bosty, Shug, Love, sweetpea, stinky, Paly, Palo Alto, Shug to the bug and again...the list goes on.

5.  Dane and I are total hypocrites.  We LOVE movies, we LOVE sweets and participate in lots of both.  Boston however eats healthier than any kid alive.  We pretty much only feed him veggies, fruit, whole grains and chicken, or beans.  I'm REALLY picky about what I feed the kid.  Grandma's and other people's houses are the exception to that rule.  Grandma's can feed him candy and soda for all I care... ok maybe not soda, but that's what Grandma's are for, right?   He also doesn't have a favorite movie, because the only movies we watch are baby Einstein and that's on really rare occasions.  We don't have cable and I'm not big on tv for kids so he just doesn't really watch any.   I imagine we're going to have to sync up our lifestyles, or Boston's gonna wonder why only the parents get all the sweets and good movies!

6.  We love music.  Music is almost always playing in our house.

7.  We are a growly bunch.  Ok well that's mostly Boston...and his Dad, but the two of them spend a lot of time growling.

8.  We're all big Daddy fans.  Boston and I have a routine of jumping up and down shouting "Dada's home, Dada's home" when Dane gets home from work.  Boston gets so excited he can't hardly stand it.

9.  We love lazing around in bed on mornings Dane doesn't have to work.  Dane and I chat while Boston climbs all over us.

10.  We love to celebrate.  Anything and everything.  Last day of school, first day of school, Holidays, birthdays, half birthdays....we pretty much find any excuse we can to celebrate and we go all out...especially if it's a Holiday or birthday.  We even make up our own Holidays (Dane appreciation day ring a bell?)  Why not?

Our beautiful little Weirdo that we're raising
Well, there's some fun Yancey facts.  Don't judge!
